During your initial consultation, you will be holistically evaluated to determine the underlying cause of weight gain. The specialist will discuss all relevant details including: your previous weight loss experience, medical conditions, eating and sleeping patterns, childhood, relationships and environmental influences. The doctor will try and find out the reason for weight gain, motivation for weight loss and the impact of weight gain on your physical health, confidence and self- esteem. The doctor will assess if you have any hormonal cause for weight gain. They will also determine whether any relevant investigations or blood tests are required.

Consultation duration depends on the type of consultation you come for. Weight management initial consultations can last up to 1 hour but follow-ups and appointments for diabetes or endocrine issues would be shorter. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your appointment time.

We will send over a clinic letter to your GP, if applicable, with all the details of the consultation. Investigations may be requested by our specialist, which you can have done either at your doctor's surgery or at a nearby private laboratory.

Our team will determine your suitability for one of our Bespoke Weight Management Plans, if you wish to join one. The Plan(s) offered will be appropriate for your needs and usually involves 3 months of intensive support from a specialist team to help you achieve healthy, sustainable weight loss. During our Plans, we also seek to address weight-related conditions such as Type 2 diabetes, hypothyroidism, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), infertility, menopause, erectile dysfunction and many others.

However there is no obligation for you to join a plan after your consultation.

We understand that circumstances change and you may not be able to make your appointment. Full refunds are available if you let us know 48 hours before your appointment time. Unfortunately as we have to make arrangements and book rooms beforehand, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations made within 48 hours. For full details please see our cancellation policy.

If you’ve already had investigations done please bring the results with you to your appointment. If during the consultation you require additional tests, the doctor will let you know how to get them arranged. You can have these done either at your doctor’s surgery or at a nearby private laboratory.

Please note that the cost of any blood tests or investigations are not included in the consultation fees.
