Who can join simplyweight online plan?

Anyone can join simplyweight!

Do any of these sound like you?

  • You are fed up with wasting money on expensive diets and plans that don’t work in the long-run. Now you’re looking for a solution that will actually last.
  • You want the truth. That is accurate, evidence-based advice from experienced specialists
  • You want to be self-sufficient and manage your own weight but could really benefit from support and encouragement
  • You want to be happy and not have your happiness linked to weight.

If so, then you should absolutely join our community and let us help you on your journey!

How is our weight loss plan different from other plans?

It’s simple. We care about your health and happiness more than a number on the scale. We strive to improve your quality of life and aid medical conditions like Type 2 Diabetes, PCOS, sleep apnoea, many of which can be managed effectively with lifestyle change.

Want to know more? Well, unlike other weight loss plans out there, our plans are designed by medical specialists (including Doctors, Dietitians, Endocrinologists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists and more) using evidence based methods.

Using our own formula you will receive a unique simportion allocation based on your personal details as opposed to a generic diet plan.

Not only that, you will have access to our online community where you can get support from other members as well as interact with our specialist team.

What is simportion?

simportion is the food component of our plan. Instead of obsessing over calories we shift the focus towards portion control and balanced eating so that you can enjoy a flexible and healthy diet without having to give up the foods you love!

Our team has derived a formula to calculate your unique portions based on your personal details.

What is simhappy?

simhappy is your very own lifestyle & wellness coach, motivator and friend. However you wish to describe it, the goal is the same…to help you achieve lasting happiness in life.

Our philosophy is that you don’t need to lose X stone/kg to be happy but rather you must accept and love yourself before you can achieve any of your goals (weight or otherwise!).

We help you do this through guided meditations, affirmations, inspiring imagery, goal & routine setting and much more! For more details about simhappy read our “How it Works” page or get in touch.

What are your health restrictions to joining?

If you have been diagnosed with or are concerned you may have a serious underlying medical (e.g. terminal conditions like cancer), psychological or serious psychiatric condition then please consult your doctor/physician before undertaking any of our plans. The advice may not be suitable for you in those cases.

Please read our health policy for full details.

Can I follow this plan with religious restrictions?

Yes, you can follow our plans with any religious restrictions. Some of these restrictions have already been taken into consideration in our meal plans. Our team is always open to receiving your questions and we will try our best to accommodate your needs.

I am 17 years old. Can I join?

Currently the information obtained on this website is intended for individuals who are 18 years or older. Any one who is keen on weight management and below 18 years of age should seek help from us through their parent(s)/guardian(s).

You will still be able to come for consultations or join a specialist plan as long as you have a parent/guardian with you.

I am pregnant. Is the plan suitable for me?

We do not currently offer a weight management plan for women who are pregnant.

However, you can join the plan after pregnancy. Most women struggle to lose weight after pregnancy. Weight management during pregnancy should be closely monitored to assess your progress through pregnancy and the baby’s well being. Your General practitioner, midwife or obstetrician should monitor your weight.

You will find excellent resources for weight management before, during and after pregnancy in www.simplyweight.co.uk. Please register to get all the information you need. Any changes you wish to adopt should be done only after consultation with your doctor and/or midwife.

I have special dietary requirements, can I still join?

Of course! We can provide delicious and healthy alternative options for anyone who is vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free etc. If you have any unique requirements then simply ask and we will do our best to accommodate your needs!

I have severe allergies, can I still follow the plan?

Yes, you can. In our screening we take into account any allergies you have. Also, the beauty of our plans is that there is no set menu that you must follow. However we do offer this option for those who want it.

Can I reverse Type 2 Diabetes or Pre-Diabetes with this plan?

We have had many people reduce or even completely go off insulin injections and medications for diabetes following the plan. Improving and/or managing your diabetes is definitely possible!

What are the risk factors for developing Type 2 Diabetes?

Risk factors for developing Type 2 diabetes include:

Overweight or obesity, Family history of Type 2 diabetes,

Large waist circumference (more than 80cm for women and 94 for men, For South Asian men: less than 90cms),

People from African-Caribbean, Black African, Chinese or South Asian backgrounds and over 25 years of age,

History of high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, polycystic ovary syndrome, gestational diabetes, schizophrenia, bipolar illness, depression or taking anti-psychotic medications

What is Diabesity?

People who are overweight or obese are more likely to develop Type 2 Diabetes. The term “diabesity” is simply a combination of both conditions. Weight loss can help prevent Type 2 Diabetes. Weight loss improves blood sugar control in people with diabetes and some people can actually come off all their medications for diabetes.

Diabesity can be best treated with gradual weight loss under the supervision of medical specialists. This programme is designed to prevent the development of Type 2 Diabetes, however it may also benefit people with existing diabetes. Always consult your doctor before making any changes to your medications.

What happens during a consultation?

Before joining any specialist plan you have an initial consultation with one of our doctors. During this consultation you will be holistically evaluated to determine the underlying cause of weight gain.  This will include physical examination, body composition analysis and investigation into your medical background, social life, childhood and previous weight loss attempts.

How long is a consultation?

Weight management consultations last approximately 1 hour. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your slot.

What happens after my consultation?

We will send over a clinic letter to your GP with all the details of the consultation. Investigations may be requested by our specialist, which you can have done either at your doctors surgery or at a nearby private laboratory.

Our specialist team will put together a bespoke 12-week plan to suit your individual needs. However there is no obligation for you to join a plan after your consultation!

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

We understand that circumstances change and you may not be able to make your appointment. Full refunds are available if you let us know 48 hours before your appointment time. Unfortunately as we have to make arrangements and book rooms beforehand, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations made within 48 hours. For full details please see our cancellation policy.

Will I need to have investigations done?

If you’ve already had investigations done please bring the results with you to your appointment. If during the consultation you require additional tests, the doctor will let you know how to get them arranged.

How much does a 12-Week Plan cost?

The cost of your 12-week plan depends on your individual needs which will be assessed in an initial consultation with a medical specialist. We not only help you lose weight but also help treat weight-related medical conditions. In some cases this may involve extensive investigations or additional support which would add to the cost of the plan.

If you would like to book a consultation at one of our clinics please contact us at hello@simplyweight.co.uk.

How much support will I get?

You will get a fully structured plan designed by medical specialists that will be intensive from day 1! We provide you with a lot of information and understand that this can be tricky to take in. This is why your plan includes interim follow-ups with our medical specialists who will evaluate your progress but also address any weight-related medical conditions.

On top of this you will be provided with access to the 100-Day Online Plan and ongoing 1-2-1 support from our team via suitable communication channels, including our own online community where you can interact with other members and share experiences.

Do you deal with medical conditions?

Yes, our 12-week medical weight loss plan includes addressing weight-related medical conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes, Hypothyroidism, PCOS, Infertility, erectile dysfunction, Fatty Liver and more. For details of everything we specialise in, please see our “Plans” page.

How much time do I need to give?

We encourage you to see this medical weight loss plan as another part of your life. Adopting our techniques into your daily life will not only help you become healthier and happier but you won’t ever feel like it’s extra “work”. It may feel challenging at first to break and form habits but if you stick with it you will certainly see the results!

I’m seeing results but 12-weeks isn’t enough! Can I extend my plan?

Don’t worry – your medical weight loss plan doesn’t need to end after 12 weeks! If you feel like you need ongoing support you can join our maintenance plan. You can stay on this plan for as long as you need to feel confident that you can manage your weight independently.

Is there a weight loss plan for medications? How long is it?

Yes, we offer a separate 12-week plan just for medications. Our most popular medication plan is for Saxenda.

Research shows saxenda on its own does not help. Each 12-week medication plan comes with the medication itself, support in using it and making appropriate lifestyle changes to ensure successful weight loss. Each medication package has an intensive support option as an add-on and offers maintenance following the 12-weeks. For more details please contact us at hello@simplyweight.co.uk .

Do you prescribe medications?

Yes, we do support people with weight loss medications if required after a thorough clinical assessment. Our doctors only prescribe medications licensed in the UK.

Can I just have the medication without joining a plan?

Research has shown that weight loss medications are effective only when supported by a team who help you make appropriate lifestyle changes and take care of potential side effects. Moreover people who stop medications after some time are more likely to regain weight. This is why we require you to be part of our 12-week weight loss plan if you intend to use any medications. However the intensity of support can vary from having a full team on board to just monthly follow-ups to make sure you’re using the medication safely, aren’t suffering from side effects or require dosage adjustment etc.

We do not offer medications without support from our team of specialists

What happens if I have side effects from the medication?

Before you start the plan, you will be provided with all the information about the medication you have been prescribed including potential side effects. As you will be on a weight loss plan you will be supported and will be able to contact us if you feel you’re experiencing any side effects.

If you do have serious side effects you should go to see your doctor in person or the nearest accident and emergency department. If the side effects are mild, please contact us on hello@simplyweight.co.uk and our doctors will advise you accordingly.

What is Saxenda?

Saxenda works similar to an appetite regulating hormone that the body produces naturally, known as Glucagon-Like-Peptide (GLP-1). Saxenda is the trade name for a generic drug, which has been used for the management for Type 2 diabetes for more than 10 years. It works by activating areas of the brain that regulate appetite, thereby makes you feel less hungry.

Research shows that Saxenda is effective only if supported by long-term lifestyle changes.
