Health Policy

This policy explains what our services are for, who they are suitable for, and where their limits lie. It applies to everything we publish and to the care we provide at both our clinics.

This is not an emergency service

Our clinics cannot respond to medical emergencies. If you are seriously unwell — chest pain, difficulty breathing, or thoughts of harming yourself — contact your local emergency services immediately.

Our information is not a substitute for care

Everything we publish, on this website and in our videos, is general information. It is not a diagnosis, it is not personal medical advice, and it cannot replace a consultation with a doctor who knows your history. Please do not use it to diagnose or treat a health problem. If you think something is wrong, see a doctor.

Who our care is for

Our services are for adults. We do not treat anyone under eighteen.

Speak to your own doctor before starting treatment with us if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding, or if you have or have had an eating disorder, a mental health condition, cancer, liver disease, kidney disease, or any condition that limits what exercise is safe for you.

That list is not exhaustive. If you are unsure whether something matters, tell us anyway.

Your first consultation is an assessment

Part of its purpose is to establish whether treatment with us is appropriate for you at all. Sometimes it is not, and sometimes we will recommend you see another specialist first.

Clinical decisions rest with your doctor

Whether to prescribe, what to prescribe and at what dose are clinical decisions. They rest with your doctor and they are final.

If something comes to light during your assessment — a condition, a medicine, or information that was not given when you registered — your doctor may decide that treatment is not appropriate for you, or not appropriate yet. Your consultation fee is not refunded in that situation. The assessment has taken place, the clinical time has been given, and you leave with an explanation and a direction.

What you tell us matters

The advice you receive depends entirely on what we know about you. Please tell us about every medicine and supplement you take, every condition you have been diagnosed with, and anything that has changed since we last spoke. We cannot account for what we have not been told.

If you feel unwell

Stop, and contact a doctor, if you feel unwell, faint, or experience pain or discomfort at any point while following our recommendations. If it is serious, contact emergency services. Then please tell us what happened.

Results vary

We cannot guarantee that you will lose weight, or how much, or how quickly. Results differ between people depending on medical circumstances and engagement with the plan. Where we publish figures from clinical trials, those describe what happened to groups of people in those trials. They are not a prediction for you.

Who you are speaking to

Clinical decisions at our clinics are made by doctors. Our patient support team are not clinicians. They can help with appointments, your plan and practical questions, but they cannot give medical advice. Where you need a clinical answer, we will arrange for a clinician to give it.

Costs we do not control

Where your care involves tests, scans or services provided by another organisation, their fees are set by them and are not included in what you pay us. Please check those costs before you proceed.
