It starts with a consultation
Nothing is prescribed without one.

(Orforglipron)
Once-daily tablet — no needlesA once-daily tablet acting on the GLP-1 pathway — a needle-free option considered within specialist weight care.
Nothing is prescribed without one.
A doctor reviews your medical history, current medicines, conditions and the factors driving your weight before any treatment is recommended.
It is prescribed following your consultation. In the UK, treatment is dispensed by a licensed pharmacy and delivered to your address anywhere in the UK. In Chennai, it is collected in person from the clinic.
Nothing is issued on repeat without review. Before each supply you tell us how you are getting on, and a doctor reviews how you are responding, how you are tolerating treatment and anything that has changed before deciding.
Every prescription follows individual review by a doctor and stays under ongoing clinical supervision.
Patients are invited to regular online education evenings and live Q&A sessions, covering nutrition, muscle preservation, managing side effects and planning for the long term.
You can tell us about side effects or concerns at any point between consultations, not only at your next appointment.
In the UK, dispensed by a licensed pharmacy and delivered to your door anywhere in the UK with tracked delivery. In Chennai, collected in person from the clinic.
Foundayo contains orforglipron, a small-molecule medicine that activates the GLP-1 receptor. It is taken by mouth rather than by injection. Semaglutide (Wegovy) is also available as a tablet as well as a weekly injection, while tirzepatide (Mounjaro) is given by weekly injection only.
Because it is a non-peptide molecule it survives digestion, so it does not carry the strict food, water and timing rules of earlier oral GLP-1 tablets.
It is prescribed alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for adults who meet the licensed criteria. Suitability depends on your medical history, current medicines, pregnancy plans and the balance of potential benefit and risk.
Orforglipron acts on the same GLP-1 receptor as injectable medicines, influencing hunger, fullness and food intake.
One tablet daily, with or without food — the practical difference many patients care about most.
Appetite and weight changes can affect diabetes and blood-pressure medicines, so review remains part of treatment.

The tablet route removes needles, sharps disposal and cold storage from the daily picture. What it does not remove is the need for review by a doctor.
In ATTAIN-1, adults with obesity or overweight and a weight-related condition received orforglipron or placebo alongside diet and activity support for 72 weeks. The study used hard capsules; the licensed film-coated tablet doses are different but have equivalent effects, as specified in the UK product information.
Foundayo SmPC section 5.1, tables 2 and 3, ATTAIN-1 treatment-regimen estimand. Tablets and capsules are not interchangeable milligram for milligram. Study-group averages do not predict an individual result.
Foundayo is one tablet taken daily, with or without food. The dose is increased in steps so your body can adjust, and each increase follows clinical review.
Side effects are usually most noticeable in the days after a step up, which is why escalation is gradual rather than rushed.
Do not change your dose unless your doctor has told you to.
0.8mg is a starting dose only. Maintenance is individual — some patients settle at 9mg, others continue to the highest licensed dose where appropriate.
Discuss your care with the clinic that is right for you.
Like all medicines, Foundayo may cause side effects. Most are mild and settle as your body adjusts. Seek urgent medical help for severe, persistent abdominal pain, especially if it spreads to the back, with or without vomiting.
Always read the Patient Information Leaflet. Contact your clinic or your doctor with any concerns.
A Foundayo leaflet is not yet available in this library. Read the current patient leaflet supplied with your medicine, and ask your clinic or pharmacist for a copy before starting treatment.
An oral GLP-1 opens the door for patients who will not or cannot use injections. Here is where it fits, with published evidence for each condition.

Obesity with multiple interacting drivers, where adherence and daily routine matter as much as the molecule.

Insulin resistance and raised glucose alongside excess weight.

For many patients the barrier is not the medicine but the injection itself.
Where Foundayo fits: A daily tablet removes needles, sharps and refrigeration, which can make treatment possible where a pen was not.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) can involve insulin resistance, cycle disruption and androgen excess.

Keeping a result is a different clinical task from achieving it.

Published evidenceThe Specialist Weight Management Plan is our most intensive option for the most complex cases. Dr Raj recommends it after your initial consultation where it is the right level of support. Not everyone needs it. For others, consultations and review alone are enough, and what you are offered depends on what is actually going on.

Foundayo (orforglipron) can be taken with or without food because it is a non-peptide small molecule, unlike oral semaglutide, which has specific absorption instructions. These directions are product-specific; follow the instructions for your own medicine and do not generalise to other tablets.

A pill is not inherently less effective than an injection, but trial averages from different studies cannot establish a direct comparison. Foundayo's reported trial result applies to a particular study population, dose, and timeframe, not a guaranteed individual outcome; treatment choice requires clinical discussion.

UK authorisation covers adults with insufficiently controlled type 2 diabetes and, separately, adult weight management at BMI 30 or above or BMI 27 to below 30 with a weight-related condition, alongside lifestyle measures. Eligibility does not establish personal suitability; a prescriber must consider the individual and current product information.

Some people may be able to switch from an injectable weight-loss medicine to Foundayo, but there is no universal safe schedule. Do not stop, overlap, or start medicines independently; the prescriber should plan timing, tolerability, and any diabetes monitoring.

GLP-1 medicines slow stomach emptying, which can cause nausea, fullness, constipation, or, rarely, more serious motility problems; symptoms are not always preventable. Eat smaller meals and follow the prescriber's advice, and seek urgent assessment for severe persistent pain, repeated vomiting, or inability to keep fluids down.

People vary in their response to semaglutide, and limited weight change does not necessarily mean they are biologically 'resistant.' Dose and duration, missed doses, other medicines, health conditions and individual biology can matter; review progress with a prescriber before changing treatment.
Treatment is one option among several, and which one suits you depends on your history, your other conditions and what has been tried before. That is what the consultation is for.
