(Oral semaglutide)
Once-daily oral tabletDaily oral semaglutide, with a specific morning routine and individual clinical supervision.
Nothing is prescribed without one.
A doctor reviews your medical history, current medicines, conditions and the factors driving your weight before any treatment is recommended.
It is prescribed following your consultation. In the UK, treatment is dispensed by a licensed pharmacy and delivered to your address anywhere in the UK. In Chennai, it is collected in person from the clinic.
Nothing is issued on repeat without review. Before each supply you tell us how you are getting on, and a doctor reviews how you are responding, how you are tolerating treatment and anything that has changed before deciding.
Every prescription follows individual review by a doctor and stays under ongoing clinical supervision.
Patients are invited to regular online education evenings and live Q&A sessions, covering nutrition, muscle preservation, managing side effects and planning for the long term.
You can tell us about side effects or concerns at any point between consultations, not only at your next appointment.
In the UK, dispensed by a licensed pharmacy and delivered to your door anywhere in the UK with tracked delivery. In Chennai, collected in person from the clinic.
Wegovy Pill is oral semaglutide, taken once daily rather than injected weekly. It is considered alongside nutrition, activity and ongoing clinical review.
The tablet has specific fasting, water and waiting instructions. Following them consistently helps the medicine be absorbed; it is not taken like an ordinary breakfast tablet.
Tablet and injection doses are not equivalent milligram for milligram. Do not combine them or switch between them without a prescribing plan.
The tablet combines semaglutide with an absorption enhancer. An empty stomach, a small sip of plain water and the waiting interval help the medicine reach the bloodstream.
The tablet is taken once daily, not weekly. Consistent administration matters, and tablet doses cannot be substituted for injection doses.
A doctor reviews your response, tolerability and other medicines as doses increase. The oral route changes how treatment is taken, not the need for ongoing care.

Take the tablet on an empty stomach after an overnight fast, using the measured amount of plain water specified in your prescription leaflet. Wait at least thirty minutes before anything else.
In the OASIS 4 trial, adults with overweight or obesity taking oral semaglutide 25mg alongside lifestyle support lost significantly more weight than those on placebo over 64 weeks. Averages describe study groups, not individuals.
OASIS 4, 307 participants. A higher figure of 16.6% has also been reported for the same trial under a different analysis; the more conservative figure is used here.
Wegovy tablets start at 1.5 mg once daily. The licensed schedule increases to 4 mg, 9 mg and then 25 mg, after at least one month at each dose level, with changes directed by your doctor.
Take the tablet whole after fasting for at least eight hours, with a small sip of plain water. Wait at least thirty minutes before food, drinks or other oral medicines. Follow the leaflet supplied with your prescription.
Do not change your dose unless your doctor has told you to.
These are tablet doses, not injection equivalents. Do not combine formulations, change dose or switch routes without your prescribing doctor’s advice.
Discuss your care with the clinic that is right for you.
Like all medicines, Wegovy Pill may cause side effects. Most are mild and settle as your body adjusts. Seek urgent medical help for severe, persistent abdominal pain, especially if it spreads to the back, with or without vomiting.
Always read the Patient Information Leaflet. Contact your clinic or your doctor with any concerns.
Read the Wegovy Pill patient information leafletYour clinical assessment considers your health, other medicines and whether the daily fasting routine is workable. Tablet-specific benefits and risks are reviewed rather than assumed from injection studies.

Dr Raj recommends it after your initial consultation where it is the right level of support. Not everyone needs it. For others, consultations and review alone are enough, and what you are offered depends on what is actually going on.

Many peptide medicines are injected because digestive enzymes can break them down and the gut may absorb them poorly; injection allows the medicine to enter the body by a different route. Some peptides have specially formulated oral versions, so the route and dose are medicine-specific and should not be interchanged without medical advice.

The dose of Wegovy depends on whether you use the weekly injection or daily tablet, how long you have been taking it and how well you tolerate it. A doctor sets gradual increases and reviews your response; the two formulations are not equivalent milligram for milligram and should not be substituted yourself.

GLP-1 medicines slow stomach emptying, which can cause nausea, fullness, constipation, or, rarely, more serious motility problems; symptoms are not always preventable. Eat smaller meals and follow the prescriber's advice, and seek urgent assessment for severe persistent pain, repeated vomiting, or inability to keep fluids down.

Side effects cannot always be prevented; taking dose increases only as prescribed, eating smaller meals and drinking enough may ease common digestive symptoms. Contact your prescriber for persistent vomiting or difficulty eating or drinking, and get urgent care for severe abdominal pain, allergic symptoms or sudden vision changes.

Wegovy contains semaglutide and is prescribed for weight management when a doctor confirms it is appropriate. The injection is weekly and the tablet is daily, with different dose schedules and instructions; neither should be started, combined or switched without a prescribing plan.

People vary in their response to semaglutide, and limited weight change does not necessarily mean they are biologically 'resistant.' Dose and duration, missed doses, other medicines, health conditions and individual biology can matter; review progress with a prescriber before changing treatment.
Treatment is one option among several, and which one suits you depends on your history, your other conditions and what has been tried before. That is what the consultation is for.
